‘Life Of The Party’ is the new single from Leeds-born multi-instrumentalist Dilettante. The track, like the rest of her work, is entirely self-produced; she makes a lot of interesting production choices throughout, from the placement of distant piano chords, to the sudden introduction of twisted instruments that mirror her voice, to the swirling, textured build of synths that guide us toward the track’s climax. Dilettante’s upcoming album, also called Life Of The Party, is a journey of self-discovery and acceptance, flecked with musings on neurodivergence and polyamory that drops on January 24th, 2025, via Launchpad+ / EMI North. She expands: “I was more overtly strange as a child but learned to hide it for the sake of trying to make friends. By the time I became an adult, I felt like I was pretty good at all that and sometimes I can even unsarcastically feel like I’m the life of the party, but not too often and it does destroy me energy-wise for days.” -Dan Peeke
